The two people a household protects last

Nutrition, screening, awareness and relief aimed squarely at women and children in the financially weakest sections of Nashik.

Women and Child Welfare

What this programme does

The sanstha has never treated healthcare as a separate problem from the position of women and children in a household. When money is short, they are the two people who eat last and see a doctor last. So along with making treatment available, we put equal weight on educating and creating awareness among these families, and above all among the women.

That means health lectures for women in tribal areas, nutrition support for children under five, screening at every school camp, and relief that reaches the women of a basti directly rather than through a queue they cannot join.

Children\u2019s rights sessions are held in schools so that children themselves know what protection they are owed.
